This must be one of the most asked questions of our generation: How can I make money online? In the beginning of the Internet era it was quite easy. You could basically just slap up a page, put some products on it and start selling. People could easily sell products because the competition was not that fierce.

When Google first opened up this opportunity to the public, the first people who signed up had an enormous opportunity to earn mega bucks with the program, and a lot of people did. However, there will always be people who will try anything to make a buck, and so the first spam sites were born. Loads and loads of sites with nothing but pages full of keywords and filled with crappola clogged the searches. In the beginning this tactic worked and people made a lot out of crappy scraped sites. Until Google caught on and ever since then they have made it really hard for spammy sites to make it into the searches.

However, that change has made it hard for any website to get into the first page of results when people do a search on Google. Their algogrithms go to great lengths to make sure that people get quality results when they do searches. It takes into account the age of the site, the links linking to it, the content quality and loads of other factors that are too many to recount here.

What this means for any website is that it takes months and months for them show anywhere in any search results, unless the site belongs to a big company that can afford to pay for back-links, content etc. So, it makes it quite difficult for the man off the street to just walk in and have instant success online.

Now you are probably wondering what you can use the Hub Page for? Well, the best thing to do is to create a hub page around a topic that you are interested in or passionate about. For instance, if you are a cross-stitch designer, you could create a hub around the history of cross-stitching, create cross-stitching tutorials, post pictures of your designs etc.

To monetize your hub page you could insert a Amazon and/or Ebay capsule to display products in your niche. Hubpages also give you a share of the Adsense income that they earn from displaying Adsense ads in your content pages.

If you sell products you could create a hub around the use of the products, give interesting facts about it, how it should be used etc.

A hub page can be built around any topic you choose - from Ant-farming to Fly-fishing basics.

You could sell products as well. For instance if you have an ebook about Fly-fhishing and you have set up a site with information about flyfishing, you can place a link to your sales page the fly-fishing ebook. It is best to link to a sales page on one of your own sites if you have one because affiliate links are frowned upon by the Hub Page administrators. However, one link to an affiliate page will probably not get your hub flagged should you not have a website of your own to put a sales page on.
