How To Build an Appealing Hub Page
We all create hub pages for different reasons. Some want to build a hub around their hobbies, others want to build hub pages to make a little bit of extra money, some create hub pages just to have a bit of fun and maybe get to know some of the other hubbers.
What do your visitors see when they come to your hub?
Whatever your reason for wanting to build a hub page - there is one thing all hub publishers have in common - they hope that someone will visit their hub and like what they saw or read and maybe leave a comment. And for some hubbers that becomes a problem because the traffic that does get to their hubs, click away as fast as they came.
The problem? A non appealing hub page!
Nobody likes to read reams and reams of pages of information that has not been broken up in some way or another. Or to try and make heads or tails of disjointed information.
A good looking and eye appealing hub page will have some images on it to give it colour, it will have the capsules in such a way that the hub makes sense instead of having to read a bit here, then hunt down the page for the next piece of information.
How to spruce up your hub pages
How to spruce up your hub pages
Here are some tips to help you build a hub page that will not have your visitors screaming for the hills.
1. Add images to your text. Images that are related to your content is very appealing and will make your pages easier to assimiliate.
2. You should also try and break up long pieces of text. Even if you only have one article, try and break it up into several pieces.
3. Use bolded subheadings in your text. That will break it up so that it does not appear to be just one long page of boring information.
4. Use "white space". Don't have your text cramped into one litle ball. Add some blank lines between parapagrapsh and break up the text when it becomes too long otherwise your visitor will definitely click away to go and find something that is easier to read.
5. Organise your capsules in a way that makes sense. E.g.
a) Text
b) Photo
c) Text
d) Photo
e) Amazon
f) Videos
g) Links
h) Comments
Doing it this way, all of your text is grouped together and the capsules that follow suppor the content. You can easily accomplish this with the Capsule Re-order facility on the right-hand side of your page.
6. If your text allows and if it compliments one another you can even have two pieces of text aligned next to each other. This is quite easy to do. While in edit mode, If you look at the top of each of your capsules, you will see some green arrows displayed at the top. The up and down arrow are to move your capsule up or down vertically. The arrow that points both ways horizontally is used to display your capsule in wide format - whichs is the default. The arrow pointing to the right, allows you to align your content to the right, and you can then move it up or down, whatever it is that you want it to display next to.
7. Align your images to be inline with your text. You can use the same procedure as above to have images display right next to your text content. You can see an example of this at the top of this article.
8. Be creative. Have fun with your hub page. If you have fun with it, so will your visitors and you will have a better chance of them staying to find out what you have to say.
